Girls Hockey

Our girls hockey program gives players a place to keep competing at a high level past age 13, when the move to checking hockey can be a tough decision. Capitals Girls Hockey players love coming to the rink they skate hard, compete harder, and build friendships that last well beyond their playing years.

Our coaches create a positive, motivating environment where players push their game forward while learning hockey at every level. Girls practice two to three times per week and travel across Wyoming to compete against the top girls hockey programs in the state.

What time of the year does this program run?

Our season begins late September and runs through the end of February or early March.

When are practices and how often are they?

Teams practice three times per week. A schedule will be posted on crossbar as soon as it is finalized.

What aged players are appropriate for this program?

Most girls make the transition to our girls team at approximately age 13, when they would be a bantam. We typically only have one girls team and therefore girls age 13 through 19 will be playing on the same team.

Does my player need his or her own equipment?

The Cheyenne Capitals Youth Hockey Association has chest protectors, elbow pads, shin pads, and breezers available for rent for most of the younger age players (mites and squirts). Other equipment may be available for rent as well, but generally all players must furnish their own helmet, stick, skates, and necessary protective equipment. There is a refundable equipment deposit that you can select during registration if you wish to rent equipment.

Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?

Players can either purchase a jersey or rent a jersey for the season if a refundable deposit is paid. You will select which option you want during the registration process.
