Cheyenne Capitals Girls Hockey
Our girl’s hockey program allows girls to continue to compete at a high level of hockey after the age of 13 when the decision to play checking hockey can be difficult. Capitals Girls Hockey players love coming to the rink to skate and compete. Our coaches create a positive and motivating environment for our players where they compete at a high level while learning the game of hockey and playing with teammates that become life-long friends. Girls practice 2-3 times per week and travel to compete against other girls hockey teams in the state of Wyoming.
Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
Most girls make the transition to our girls team at approximately age 13, when they would be a bantam. We typically only have one girls team and therefore girls age 13 through 19 will be playing on the same team.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
Our season begins late September and runs through the end of February or early March.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
Practices and home games are held at the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center. Our girls team competes in the Wyoming Amateur Hockey League with games throughout the state of Wyoming.
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
Teams practice three times per week. A schedule will be posted on crossbar as soon as it is finalized.
Jerseys
Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?
Players can either purchase a jersey or rent a jersey for the season if a refundable deposit is paid. You will select which option you want during the registration process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my player need his or her own equipment?
The Cheyenne Capitals Youth Hockey Association has chest protectors, elbow pads, shin pads, and breezers available for rent for most of the younger age players (mites and squirts). Other equipment may be available for rent as well, but generally all players must furnish their own helmet, stick, skates, and necessary protective equipment. There is a refundable equipment deposit that you can select during registration if you wish to rent equipment.

REGISTER BY 8/1/2025 BEFORE FEES INCREASE. REGISTRATION FEES INCREASE AFTER 8/1/2025 BY $200
This registration is for the girls team only. Registration price for the girls team is $950.
After 8/1/2025 $1150.
Prior to registering, you will need to have a USA Hockey number for your player. Through the registration process, we will also collect necessary information, such as an acknowledgment of the code of conduct, volunteering, and fundraising policy. Please be prepared to complete these items as part of the registration process.
